Sardine & Chili-Butter Puff Pastry Bites

Ingredients:

  • Bar Harbor Foods® Sardines (drained)
  • Puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • Butter, softened
  • Chili crisp (adjust for heat preference)
  • Micro greens or fresh parsley or chives for garnish
  • Lemon zest (optional, for brightness)

Assembly:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix softened butter with sardines, mashed.
  3. Cut puff pastry into small squares or rectangles.
  4. Bake 12–15 min, until golden and puffed.
  5. Spread/pile the fish/butter mixture on each square.
  6. Top with Chili sauce or Chili crisp.
  7. Garnish with micro greens or parsley/chives and a light sprinkle of lemon zest.

Serve: Hot from the oven as elegant, bite-sized appetizers or at room temperature if you prefer.
